These policies apply to all clients unless other arrangements are agreed upon in writing.
By placing an order with Electra Designs, client is stating that they have read and agree to Electra Designs terms and conditions.
All standard and fully custom items are made to order. Items can not be returned, exchanged, altered, or refunded. Once the order is placed and the deposit has been paid, no changes can be made to the order. Client may cancel order before delivery with the understanding that all money paid and all materials sent to Electra Designs will be forfeited and will not be returned or credited back to client. Electra Designs may cancel an order if client fails to meet their responsibilities (please read remainder of Terms and Conditions for client responsibilities).
For standard sizes, please select your size carefully. Electra Designs does not stock corsets. Each one is made to order, so be sure to measure correctly and select a style that is right for you. Alexis can help you select your size and stye, but ultimately, it is the client’s responsibility to select the appropriate size and style. Standard size corsets cannot be exchanged, returned or altered.
For fully custom sizes, please be sure to measure accurately. Your mockup will be made to the measurements you provide. Fit problems will be addressed during the fitting process through the use of a mockup (test fit garment). Alexis will make suggestions for changes to your mockup. Ultimately, it is up to the client to agree or disagree with the suggestions. The final corset will be made with the agreed upon changes. Once the final corset is made, there can be no changes, alterations, returns or refunds, even if your body changes by the time your finished corset is received.
For all orders: If corset is not the size, color, fabric, or style you ordered, or if it is received damaged (not as a result of shipping or improper handling), client must report the problem within 7 days of receipt to file a claim. Do not send the corset back without written approval. Please send pictures of yourself wearing the garment over a tank or camisole (be sure it is right side up and properly laced), along with close ups of any problem areas. Please describe the issue in detail.
Please give Electra Designs the opportunity to resolve the problem. Alexis will examine your request to determine if she is at fault and will make the necessary corrections if is she is.
No requests will be considered after 7 days of receipt.
Ready To Wear: 100% payment required in full
Standard Sizes: 50% deposit to begin work. Balance due within 30 days of deposit or by estimated date of completion (whichever comes first).
Fully Custom: 50% deposit to begin work. Half of balance due within 30 days of deposit. Balance due 60 days after deposit or by estimated date of completion (whichever comes first). Failure to make payments as scheduled will result in cancellation of order and loss of deposit. Reminders may not be sent, so please keep track of your payments and due dates. For orders totaling over $1000, special arrangements can be made in advance. Please inquire.
Standard Sizes: Client must provide size, style, fabric, and trim selection, as well as all materials (if client-provided) within 7 days of first payment. Client must make payments as scheduled. Failure to any of these things will result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
Fully Custom: Client must provide accurate measurements, style, fabric, and trim selection, as well as all materials (if client-provided) within 14 days of first payment. Client must provide clear photos of themselves wearing their mockup within 14 days of receipt of mockup. Client must return mockup within 30 days of receipt. Client must make payments as scheduled. Failure to do any of these things will result in cancellation and loss of deposit.
All Orders: In the event of cancellation: Orders may be canceled by Electra Designs in the event of client failure to provide measurements, materials, photos, information, return mockup or make payment within the agreed upon timeframe. In the event of cancellation, any materials obtained by Alexis may be sold or destroyed at Alexis’ discretion.
Communication: It is important to maintain open communication throughout the process. At times Alexis may require information or approval from you before she can make progress on your order. If communication is lost as a result of your failure to respond, your order will be delayed, and you may risk cancellation and loss of your payment. Please respond to Alexis’ emails within three days (at least to let her know you received it and are considering her question or preparing your information). Please check your spam filters to be certain you are able to receive communications from Electra Designs. If you do not respond to emails within 14 days, your order will be cancelled and your payment forfeited. Please provide Alexis with an alternate email address and/or phone number just in case.
Alexis will make every effort to respond to all emails within 48 hours. Life happens. If you are unable to fulfill your obligations within the given timeframe, and you have extenuating circumstances, please let Alexis know. She will do the same for you. If you do not receive a response to your email within 48 hours, she most likely did not receive it.

Because I work from home and am often very busy juggling numerous corset orders at different stages of development, it is very important that you honor your appointments. In many cases, I am working on your mockup right up to the day of your appointment. When clients fail to come to scheduled appointments, it disrupts my workflow, which negatively affects my other clients. Please make every effort to make it to your appointment, or try to cancel or reschedule as early as possible to avoid penalties. The penalties may seem severe, but unfortunately, I have had to implement them due to past problems.
Missed Appointments: A $75 fee will be assessed if you miss or are more than 30 minutes late for your appointment. If it happens a second time, the fee is $100. If it happens a third time, your order will be canceled, and all money paid will be forfeited. Please call or text me if you are running late.
Canceling and Rescheduling: If you are unable to make your appointment, please cancel and reschedule as soon as possible to avoid penalties. There is no fee for canceling or rescheduling at least 10 business days prior to your appointment. There is a $25 fee for canceling or rescheduling 6-9 business days prior to your appointment. There is a $50 fee for canceling or rescheduling at least 3-5 business days prior to your appointment. If it happens a second time, the fee doubles. if it happens a third time, your order will be canceled and all money paid will be forfeited. If you cancel within 2 business days of your appointment, the "missed appointment" fee will apply instead.
Weight Loss or Gain: Sometimes clients gain or lose a significant amount of weight between the measurement fitting and the mockup fitting (or between multiple mockup fittings). If this happens, and you plan to get back to the size you were when your measurements were taken for the final corset, it is often better to wait until you are back to normal before scheduling the mockup fitting. Otherwise, If the mockup doesn't fit due to notable weight fluctuation, and a second mockup must be made, there will be a fee for the second mockup as well as a fee for an additional fitting. If you need your corset for a special occasion, please keep in mind that additional mockups and fittings will prolong completion time. If you suspect potential problems at your next fitting due to weight fluctuation, please email me as soon as possible so we can decide the best course of action for your situation.
A properly fitted Electra corset is safe and comfortable when worn and handled correctly. Your corset comes with instructions for proper wear and care. If you are uncertain, or need clarification, please consult Alexis.
